The Supreme x Coleman CT200U Minibike, introduced in 2017, stands out as a collectible piece of nostalgia, remaining in impeccable condition and designated as "new old stock." This limited-edition minibike has garnered attention from collectors since its release, celebrated for both its playful design and vintage charm.

Finished in the iconic Supreme red, the minibike features bold white logos on both the fenders and seating, alongside a distinctive “Ride or Die” graphic located on the chain guard.
The Coleman CT200U Minibike: A Classic Reinvented
The Coleman CT200U is emblematic of the classic American minibike, equipped with a 196cc engine that hearkens back to the early minibike craze of the 1960s. Characteristic of this era, the bike is a lightweight, pull-start model that’s straightforward in its design.

One notable aspect of the CT200U is its simplicity; the owner's manual amusingly labels its front and rear suspension as “low pressure tires,” a testament to the minimalist approach taken during its design phase. The bike showcases the classic layout reminiscent of the minibikes that filled backyards across America during the 1960s, during a time when lawnmower engine-powered machines were prevalent.

Historically, manufacturers such as Taco, led by off-road racer John Steen, played prominent roles in the early minibike market but eventually faced stiff competition from the likes of Honda and Kawasaki, which brought more sophisticated models into play.

Empowered by a solitary air-cooled, overhead-valve engine and a 10:1 gear ratio, the CT200U delivers a modest performance rated at 5.1 bhp and 8.1 lb-ft of torque. Although some listings claim a more aspirational output of 6.5 bhp, this amount is adequate for recreational use while maintaining a user-friendly experience for novice riders.

The CT200U is powered by an air-cooled, overhead-valve single-cylinder engine with straightforward specifications, ensuring ease of use for new riders.

Adding to the ease of operation, the CT200U employs a centrifugal clutch and chain drive system that eliminates the need for gear shifting, providing a worry-free experience for riders. It comes fitted with a rear drum brake controlled by a handlebar lever, which helps prevent missteps from newer riders. With a durable structure, the bike is equipped with AT19x7-8 tires, and a fuel capacity of 0.95 gallons, enabling it to sustain enjoyable rides with a top speed of 20 mph.

Limited Edition Appeal: Supreme's Collaboration with Coleman
The collaboration between Supreme and Coleman was a delightful surprise to fans when it was unveiled via social media in mid-2017. Just two days later, the CT200U was launched online, marketed as part of Supreme's Spring/Summer 2017 season. Sporting their distinctive box-logo red paint paired with black accents, these minibikes featured screaming Supreme branding, making them instantly recognizable as a collector’s item.

At launch, the standard version of the CT200U retailed for approximately $699.99, while the Supreme iteration was priced at $998, quickly selling out. Due to their limited availability, resale prices for the minibikes soared on the aftermarket, with some listings reaching into the mid-four-figure range as collectors chased after them. Today, prices continue to appreciate as demand for these unique pieces remains high.

The Auction: A Piece of History Awaits
The featured minibike is an original specimen from the 2017 launch, described as unused and in factory-new condition. This particular unit has not been started since being removed from its box, enhancing its desirability among collectors.
